The first event of the Polish Australian Business Forum (PABF) took place at the Reception Room of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney on Thursday, June 18 2015.
The Consul General Regina Jurkowska welcomed warmly invited guests by introducing a new initiative of Polish leaders living in Australia. Next, founders Justyna Orłowska and Michał Zębala talked about the mission and objectives of AFLB. Prior to the core discussion part of the event, violinist Dominik Przywara performed a sonata by J.S. Bach and, on a lighter note, a theme from the movie “Scent of a Woman”.
The discussion panel with Polish business leaders constituted the main part of the meeting and was led by Magdalena Dejneka from SBS Radio. The invited speakers were talking about their professional experience in Australia.
Bogusław Sawa – a manager at EY with over eight years of work experience, specializing in the external audit. His career at the office in Sydney began four years ago. Bogusław received a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Warsaw.
Ewa Turek – a manager at the department of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley, where she is responsible for investment strategies. Ewa gained her prior professional experience at such companies as ANZ and Frontier Advisors. She received a Master’s degree in finance at the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor’s degree in economics at Monash University.
Kuba Tymuła – a CEO of Harris Partners – a company dealing with data analysis and consumer behavior. Kuba gained his professional experience at such companies as Merrill Lynch, Unicredit, McKinsey and undertook a number of his own business initiatives. He received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston and a Master’s degree from Cambridge University.
