UPCOMING EVENTS

    • 7 May 2025
    • 6:00 PM
    • Polish Club Brisbane or online

The Polish Australian Chamber of Commerce: Education& Research Chapter invites you to our FREE monthly seminar

Join us for an engaging evening of learning, conversation, and connection as we showcase academic and professional expertise, explore fresh perspectives, and foster meaningful collaboration across sectors and continents.

In May, we dive into two fascinating and timely topics:

    • How businesses can evolve beyond profit-driven models to become powerful forces for social cohesion
    • Urban planning from the unique lens of a practitioner who balances academic insight with real-world impact

    Guest Speakers:
Prof. Betina Szkudlarek – University of Sydney Business School
Strategic Sustainability and Growth Consultant, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). Betina will introduce us to a transformative stream of research that explores how businesses can become bridge-builders in increasingly divided societies. Drawing on her global work, she’ll challenge the notion of objective judgment and invite us to reflect on how cultural backgrounds shape our perceptions. Expect a thought-provoking session on social cohesion, diversity of interpretation, and the evolving role of business in society.

Dr. Matt Zenkteler– Urban Planner & Academic, Bond University and Tweed Shire Council. Matt is a true “pracademic,” uniquely positioned at the intersection of theory and practice. He will discuss how he bridges his academic work with practical urban planning through his role at Tweed Shire Council. Gain insight into the challenges and opportunities of shaping cities with both academic knowledge and on-the-ground realities.
